Since the UK blog 'Limping Chicken' has been on deaf.read I have noticed increasing inclusions of 'Secret Deafie' posts. One has to ask WHY Limping Chicken contributors are so ashamed at being deaf they won't reveal themselves ! It would at least avoid suspicions the editor is writing of his own experiences !
I say to Limping chicken 'secret contributors' time you stopped being ashamed of what you are. These days we are not secretive about being deaf, mainly because this plays into the 'Invisible disability' thing, and just makes issues for yourself and others. If someone is taking the P out of my deafness, they soon know about it....
What next, 'I was deaf for 50 years and no-one knew' ? The UK 'STAR' has opposition along with its posts on UFO's. This is the negative advertising rhetoric of 'Hidden Hearing' (Hearing aids), which is mostly condemned by us. What would be the point of it ?
