WHAM-TV (Channel 13) takes a look at a new study from Rochester Institute of Technology's National Technical Institute for the Deaf that concludes Rochester, N.Y. has one of the largest per capita deaf and hard-of-hearing populations in the country among those ages 18 to 64. More specifically, there are an estimated 19,438 deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals under the age of 65 in the greater Rochester area, according to the findings. Businesses in Rochester have thrived thanks to NTID and this unique population.
