That was the sport that was... UK 'more positive about disability' following Paralympics. Three-quarters of 2,000 Britons feel more positive about the role of people with disabilities in the UK following the Paralympics, a BBC survey three months on from the Games suggests. They just don't want to employ, treat their medical conditions, or include them. Patronisation, this is how the Brits do it...... This pro-London bull manure, they made a financial killing and the paralympians depended not on state help but via handouts from a gambling area, the lottery or there would be no paralympics..
Any bandwagon you can be sure Politicians will jump on it. Some 79% of 2,400 non-disabled people questioned by ComRes for the BBC also said they thought wider perceptions of disability had improved, but thinking aint doing.. Wonder how many deaf they talked to....... Like erm... yeah I always open a door for someone on a wheelchair, I don't talk to them no, respect their privacy like you know... they are all so brave..." (Idiot).
But the figure fell to 65% among the 600 people with disabilities surveyed. A leading charity (Scope what ARE you doing ?), has welcomed the news but says there is "some way to go". We clearly still have some way to go, but we shouldn't write off the Paralympics effect”. Yes we should, people forgot straight after..... many disabled areas weren't even included.
Seem they are short on real information, given the deaf did not participate in the paralympics except as novelty arts acts, and unpaid facilitators, interspersed with a few deaf children in a choir....NOT as sporting participants. Deaf are struggling to raise the fare to attend their own deaflympics, in some god-forsaken eastern bloc country.... after the UK Sports body wouldn't include them. Thankfully most in the UK are unaware of deaf not wanting in to disabled things and going it alone, or perhaps the perceptions would not be as positive toward the deaf.
As with all surveys it is who you ask and where, and getting a decent cross-section, hey ho, another survey that is meaningless waffle.... Tani-Grey a gold-medal winning paralympian is still trying to get her access... and who can forget the disgust when ATOS was allowed to sponsor ? whilst they were removing disabled welfare support and care ? and since over a 100 re-assessed as OK to work by ATOS (including terminally-ill, and bed-ridden patients), died as a result of crude assessment methods, when they should have been banned from the Olympic site for disability abuse or even arrested for manslaughter?
Or even London police using tear gas on disabled cyclists on the Olympic site ? and preventing TV cameras from filming disabled protest ?
