UNESCO/iSLanDs put sign on endangered language lists.

iSLanDS collaboration with UNESCO puts endangered sign languages “on the map”.

Endangered sign languages will literally be put “on the map” thanks to a collaboration between UNESCO and the iSLanDS Institute. For the first time, sign languages are to be included in the UNESCO Atlas of the World’s Languages in Danger.

It seems globalisation of language and the desire for a sign 'norm' is destroying regional  sign languages and preventing their development.
