A former pretzel eatery manager says her one-time employee — who is also her sister — was fired by new owners after they discovered she was completely deaf.
Kami Tucker, who managed the Auntie Anne’s pretzel store in the Dickson Walmart for more than two years, told the new owner Saturday, “I am not firing her. If you want to fire her, you have to fire her yourself,” Tucker said in an interview with The Herald.
“I looked at him straight in the face and asked, ‘So, you are firing her because she is deaf?’” Tucker said.
She said new owner Steve Leasure stated he was firing her “because she is incapable of doing her job.” Her sister Keri Watkins was let go that day.
